Returned to TZN to climb Kili via the Machame route (7D/6N) end Sept 2017. We were lucky to retain some of the original crew from my Meru trip back in 2016. (Adronis as guide, Baraka as chef). A group of 4 this time round, we were able to enjoy once again Mohammed's flawless organization. Everything worked out well (prep, crew, food, guiding, nice sites despite busy camps), we acclimatized during the week around 3,800-4,600m (benefits of the route if you don't have enough time for Lemosho) and summited Kibo/Uhuru Peak without major problems on Sept 29th at sunrise. Special fuel for the last 30min was a hot bottle of ginger tea at Gilman's Point where the different ascent routes merge. Post hike we were able to do a quick safari trip to Tangarire (you can really see everything in 1-2 days with a good driver/guide like Jackson) before heading back home. What's next? Mawenzi, Mount Kenya or Rwenzori? ;)
